into reality

Envision a virtual furniture shopping journey transformed by engaging design tools and a vibrant community, where every experience becomes delightfully collaborative.

How Do We Visualize the Written
Article in Digital Form?

This project originated from the idea of converting a written article into a digital format. We chose a news article about the COVID passport initiative, which was one of the significant issues during the COVID period.

About Article:
The COVID Passport Initiative

The article “Summer of Joy,” which we chose, focuses on the COVID passport initiative introduced in Denmark and other European countries. Denmark serves as an ideal testing ground for this technology due to its status as one of the world’s most digitized nations and its economy’s heavy reliance on international trade.

However, the initiative has sparked significant controversy. While some people support the COVID passport, others are concerned about potential negative consequences of its implementation.

Personalized Your Preference

FURNISH collects the user's personal data to inquire about their preferences in order to recommend products based on the user's taste at the beginning.

Easy and Efficient Surfing

Users can explore their own style based on their personal preferences through the app. They can navigate the app more easily and efficiently using its various features.

Dive into Virtual Space

Users can use the 3D planning feature to apply furniture in the AR system or use the 3D Scanner to see how items fit in their rooms and customize them. Additionally, users can create virtual rooms to experiment with structures, layouts, and furnishings

to match their preferences.

Delight is Double When We’re Together

The "Together" page provides a simple way for users to connect with one another. When users face challenges, like interior design, they can post photos and describe their situations to

get better suggestions and options from experts and fellow members on the board.

Based on the collection of personal data and preferences, FURNISH will precisely aim to provide users with the best selection of items tailored to their taste.

Instead of imagining which item will suit, users can directly apply the item into the room virtually.

FURNISH features a community board where users can share their design ideas and seek feedback or advice.

FURNISH aims to offer a variety of unique furniture and decor styles.

Interview Our Target Users

To gain better insight, I interviewed individuals from various backgrounds who are:

Many interviewees prefer online shopping, but a significant number still enjoy visiting physical stores to touch and inspect products for quality. They appreciate the in-person experience and find it more engaging than online shopping, which lacks then entertainment factor found in physical stores.

Take Away

Most people mentioned that the physical store experience is more enjoyable and valuable than online shopping, which is just the place where people only buy stuff, not supporting any other experience. I wanted to provide a more precious and pleasant experience to the user rather than just making a good-looking online app.

The project pushed me to consider more deeply into the users' point of view and what kind of features can possibly work together with ordinary online shopping.

Finally, I found the solution that community board as the social media can merge with online shopping that can build a more strong bond and provide a shared spaces. And I'm so glad that I can give both pleasant experience and casual vibe to the user through my app, FURNISH.
